Free 30-Min Discussion 100% Digital Process: Local Support in 20+ States and UTs Book a Consultation Now Frequently Asked Questions on NBFC-Factor Registration Process What is an NBFC-factor in simple words? Well, in a simple and uncomplicated way, an NBFC-factor is a financial company that helps a business, generally MSMEs, by buying their unpaid client invoices and giving immediate cash, facilitating their daily operations. For example, an SME sells goods on credit and issues an invoice to its customer; now, instead of waiting 30 to 90 days for the client to make the payment, the SME sells the invoice to the NBFC-factor. The latter pays out a large percentage of the value to the business, collects the full payment directly from the client, and keeps a small commission for its service. Who regulates NBFC-Factors in India? All the non-banking financial companies are governed and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). From getting the registration to meeting every requirement during the course of operation, an NBFC is fully regulated. Is RBI registration mandatory for an NBFC-Factor? Absolutely, you need a certificate of registration from the central banking authority to start factoring. Operating as a factor without proper approval would land you in legal trouble, along with hefty financial difficulties. What is the minimum Net Owned Fund required for NBFC-factor registration? You need at least INR 10 crore as NOF if you are specifically registering as a factor with the RBI. For existing NBFCs like the ICC or MFIs, the NOF can be deposited or accumulated to the prescribed limit by March 31, 2027. Before you apply for registration, we help you confirm the capital, so there are no unnecessary delays or rejections. How much is the capital adequacy? Well, once registered, you must maintain at least 15% of the capital to risk-weighted assets ratio (CRAR) at all times to keep your registration with the RBI intact. For example, if your ratio drops, you will face restrictions on business operations, activities, and lending. Some businesses even face revocation of the registration. What do you need for NBFC factoring? Get started with us by providing your proposed factoring activities, company name, business plan, financial statements of the last five years, information on capital, and any other relevant details that might help us serve you better. How can a company apply for NBFC-Factor registration? All you have to do is approach Enterslice; then we will register your company as a private or public limited company (as per your instructions), enrol you for income tax and GST, and open a bank account. After that, we help you assess your NOF, ensuring you have at least INR 10 crore in net owned funds. Finally, we structure your legal documents, policies, corporate governance, and KYC/AML compliance, along with the online/offline submissions with the RBI. How long does the NBFC-factor registration process take? You can expect anywhere between 4 to 9 months at the least because there's a lot of back-and-forth due to the complexity of the registration and the regulatory landscape of dealing with the RBI, which is where we come into the picture. With our guidance and support, you can clear delays through timely query resolution and avoid potential rejections. Can an NBFC-Factor provide loans or other financial services? While the main business should be factoring, with 50% of the assets and income coming from it, NBFCs can also offer loans or approved financial services. Make sure to get the said permit from the central banking authority. Is there any ongoing compliance after registering with the RBI? Of course, your work isn't over with the CoR. Common obligations include director KYC, registering with the FIU-India, filing returns with the RBI & other authorities, making submissions to the MCA/ROC, annual return filings, MSME returns, deposit and outstanding deposit filings, and event-based submissions.

Great set of people working together. Very customer friendly. I am very satisfied with the food license registration services and will definitely come back for other similar requirements.
I came to know about Enterslice through a friend. Since then I have done GST Registration through them. The services are consumer centric and fast. I have recommended them to many of my acquaintance already.
I chose Enterslice to start my new Indian adventure as entrepreneur, and respect my past experience i was surprised by their professionalism. In particular, Raksha T. followed my startup process, and i was delighted with her support on every moment. Great, great experience.
Amazing services provided by your organization. They have completed our NBFC registration order within stipulated time period of 90 days. They provide constant guidance and support in the process. Their support in building fintech software is amazing.
