National Small Industries Corporation or NSIC is an undertaking of Government of India under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).NSIC is a Mini Ratna PSU introduced by the Government of India in 1955. The primary objective of NSIC OR National Small Industries Corporation is to promote the products of micro and small enterprises. The National Small Industries Corporation connects in India by working in specific plans like single point registration for Government purchase, Performance and Credit Rating Scheme and Marketing Support, etc. It operates all over India with the help of the network, Technical Centers and Offices. The MSMEs having NSIC Registration can get access to various developmental schemes of the government and achieve enormous growth in their business.

NSIC by way of registration permits the micro and small enterprises to participate in Government Purchase Programme. NSIC registration is always recommended to MSMEs to avail several benefits from the schemes under NSIC. The NSIC registration charges are generally based on the turnover of the enterprise as per the latest financial statements. The following are the registration fees:
Apart from the registration charges, there is an inspection fee, and the professional fee is also charged as well.
After the submission of the NSIC Application and its approval, the enterprise will receive NSIC Registration Certificate. The NSIC Registration Certificate granted to the Micro, and Small Enterprise is valid for two years. The certificate will be reviewed and renewed after every two years by verifying continuous Commercial and Technical Competence of the registered Micro & Small Enterprise in the manufacturing or producing stores for which it got registered under NSIC.
To increase government purchases from small-scale enterprises, the government introduced the Single Point Registration scheme (SPRS). MSMEs can get registered under this scheme and get exempted from the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) in Government Purchases. Earnest Money Deposit(EMD) is taken from the bidder to assure his sincerity in a bid.
Raw Material Assistance or RMA Scheme provides financial support to MSMEs for the purchase of Raw Material both indigenous and imported. This allows MSMEs to focus more on manufacturing good quality products.
NSIC initiated the B2B portal called MSME Global Mart. These are a one-stop for assistance to MSMEs on the business, technology, and finance. MSME Global Mart aims to boost the core competence of Indian MSMEs. The services of this portal are available through Annual Membership.
NSIC administers technical support and skill development training to MSMEs at the ‘NSIC Technical Services Centres’ (NTSC). Besides, it has several Training Incubation Centres (TICs), and Livelihood Business Incubation Centres (LBIs) spread across India.
