ISI means Indian Standard Institute. It is a certified mark that is used for industrial items sold in India. The ISI mark assures that the product you are buying is safe to use and of good quality. Various products that we use in our daily life contain this mark. In this article, we shall discuss the ISI registration process.
ISI mark registration is required for all certifying products sold in India. The meant assures of the quality and safety of the product sold. The product that contains this mark indicates that such products are in compliance with the Indian standard quality. With ISI certification, you can expand your business also.

If you wish to obtain ISI mark registration, then you can follow these steps:
Identify the ISI standard code for your product.
Once the product code is chosen, you will be required to file the registration application form V. Affix all necessary documents with the application form. Then pay the fee as required for the certification and inspection of your factory premises.
When the application is submitted successfully, the inspection team and the persons authorized by the government visit the factory premises. The inspection team and the authorized person shall inspect the factory premises and conduct quality control process. The inspection team shall take some samples of the product and goods for testing it in BIS approved laboratory.
Collect the lab test report of the sample done by the inspection and submit the lab report to the BIS.
After proper verification of the testing report & application form, BIS shall issue a registration certificate.

There are occasions when the BIS may reject the application for ISI mark registration. Some of the reasons include the following:
Before the bureau rejects such an application, it will give a 21 days’ notice to the applicant. The applicant will be heard in person or through a representative. In case where the reasons provided by the applicant are not satisfactory, then the application would be rejected by the bureau.
