What are the components of GST Registration?

Before you apply for GST Registration in Goa, you should be aware of the GST components:

  • CGST

CGST or Central Goods and Services Tax is imposed on intra-state supply of goods and service and is collected by the central government. When the location of the supplier and the buyer is in the same state, then it is called intra-state supply of goods/services.

  • SGST

State Goods and Services Tax is imposed on intra-state supply of goods and services. This tax is imposed by the state government. The tax collected goes to the state government.

  • IGST

Integrated GST is a tax levied on the inter-state supply of goods and services. It is governed by the IGST Act. In this, the seller collects IGST from the buyer and the tax collected is divided between the central and state government.

  • UGST

This applies when services and or goods is consumed in the union territories of India. Under the UT GST, the revenue is collected by the government of the union territory.

The list of documents may vary as per business structure:

For Proprietorship

  • PAN card;
  • Aadhar card;
  • Passport size photo of proprietor;
  • Address proof of the business, and if the place of business is rented, rent agreement will be required.

For LLP

  • PAN card of LLP;
  • LLP agreement;
  • Name of the partners and their address proof.

Online GST Registration in Goa

The GST Registration procedure can be completed online itself. We have provided the complete step by step registration process in detail:

  • Firstly access the GST portal through the following link- https://www.gst.gov.in/
  • Then move to Services > Registration > New Registration;
  • Select the new registration option and fill in the details required, such as type of taxpayer, the state (in this case Goa), provide the legal name of the business etc.
  • Once the information mentioned above is submitted, then the OTP verification page will be displayed. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and e-mail address;
  • On completing the OTP verification process, a TRN will be generated. TRN can be used to complete the registration process;
  • In the TRN field, enter the TRN generated and enter the captcha text;
  • Various details should be submitted, like business information tab, then in the next tab, submit the promoter information, submit authorized signatory information. Enter the principal place of business, additional place of business, details of goods and service, bank account details;
  • Then verify the details entered in the application. When you have verified it, tick the verification checkbox;
  • You need to digitally sign the application with DSC or EVC. It may be noted that signing the document digitally is necessary in case of LLP;
  • When the application is digitally signed, then a success message shall be displayed. An application reference number will be sent to the registered e-mail address and mobile number. The application can be tracked with this.
