  • Guides and instructors need to complete a minimum 8-hour first aid course and should have done basic mountaineering course. They need to be a certified MOI qualified instructor or IMF recognized sports climbing instructor.
  • The safety equipment needs to match certain standards. Personal protective equipment or PPE like harness, helmets, ropes and belay devices used must be European Conformity approved and have a safe working load of 2.5 tons.
  • A first aid kit must be available for emergency and rescue operations. There also must be minimum one to two qualified personnel on the payroll for providing first aid and CPR.
  • Proper documentation related to equipment purchase, installations, checks, instructor training and qualification logbooks, CPR certification and emergency action plan needs to be maintained.
