Through a Legal heir certificate in Himachal Pradesh, an heir is successful in receiving the assets or belongings of the deceased through a will or other legal methods. Step 1: Obtain a legal heir certificate application form from the concerned personnel, fill it out carefully, and place your signature.
Step 2: After filling out the form, affix a stamp as quoted by the authority and submit everything to the concerned office along with all the necessary documents.
Step 3: After submission, the officer will check your application form along with the attached documents. If all are in place, he/she will issue a reference number and forward your application for further processing.
Step 4: There might be ground-level verification and scrutiny of documents submitted.
Step 5: Post verification at all levels; concerned officials will submit a report to the tehsildar.
Step 6: The tehsildar will finally take a call based on the reports received. If he/she is satisfied with it, he/she will approve the same and issue a legal heir certificate.
Step 1: The applicant should visit the official website of e-District Himachal Pradesh to apply online.
Step 2: Click the Revenue Department under the List of Services that appears on the left side of the Home Page.
Step 3: The list displays various services. Click legal heir certificate, which directs to the Login page to apply.
Step 4: In the case of a new user, click New Registration. The registration page of the portal appears.
Step 5: Enter the necessary details mentioned below and click submit.
Step 6: Enter the registered user ID and the password to log in to the online application portal.
Step 7: Select the department “Revenue Department” and choose the service as ‘Application for Legal Heirs Certificate’.
Step 8: The service description page will open. Click on the proceed button. The application form for the legal heir certificate will appear.
Step 9: Fill out the form with essential details that include the following.
Step 10: Upload the scanned copies of the required documents.
Step 11: Click on the Payment button, and then the citizen is redirected to the payment window. Click on the Make Payment button and Confirm Payment button, which will redirect to the Internet Banking Window.
Step 12: On completing the payment, download the confirmation receipt.
Subsequently, the application will be forwarded to the relevant person for any required action. You can print the application form for your records in the future.
Note: Providing any false or deliberate misinformation might result in the application request being denied or in fines.
Step 13: The Tehsildar will either accept or reject the application after verifying the applicant’s details and documents.
In the event of a discrepancy, the officer will return the request to the initiator with remarks.
If second-level verification is necessary, the application will be forwarded to a patwari for review. If satisfied with the patwari’s verification report, the tehsildar will accept the request.
Through the Lok Mitra Kendra, the applicant was granted a legal heir certificate by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The LMKs produce and issue the authorized certificate in offline mode using the new e-Pramaan software.
The authorized certificate will be scanned and uploaded to the updated e-Pramaan program by the competent authority. To search the certificate uploaded by the Districts/Sub-Divisions/Tehsil, the village-level entrepreneur (VLE) of LMK will log in using their login and password. After printing them and signing and stamping them, the authorities would provide them to the concerned individual. If a certificate is reissued by the relevant authorities, the LMK will supply the most recent copy of the original certificate. The Lok Mitra Kendra will issue copies of the certificate after signing the same with the LMK seal. The copy of the certificate issued through LMK will be treated as true and valid.
Note: Every A-4 size certificate copy shall incur a service charge of Rs. 10/-per page from the citizen levied by the LMK.
If your legal heir certificate is misplaced or destroyed, you can obtain a duplicate copy. You can visit the Lok Mitra Kendra, which is closest to you, for that. You may obtain the most recent version of your certificate here.
The duplicate certificate will be accepted as totally real and legitimate and released with the LMK seal. There is a minimum fee of ₹10 for every duplicate issue, though.
