Jeevan Pramaan Online certificate is a digital life certificate, a biometric-enabled and Aadhar based certificate for pensioners registered with the government. This Digital Life certificate is generated for an individual pensioner using his or her Aadhar Number and Biometrics. Pensioners of central government, state government or any other government organization can take the benefit of this facility.

It is considered a massive relief for pensioners from submission of traditional life certificate. The digital certificate can be submitted by them while staying at home. How the process of Jeevan Pramaan Online came into existence?

Due to the pandemic the government has preferred digital methods. This digital life certificate^[1] is the new norm for providing pension. The Jeevan Pramaan Online is an important document for the pensioner to enable his retirement from the government. The following challenges were faced by the pensioner:

1. Traditionally, to get the life certificate, an individual drawing pension is required to present physically to get the pension.
2. Due to age there are difficulties to be present in person.
3. This hardship arises more when the pensioner is old.
4. The digital life certificate introduced by the government in the way of Jeevan Pramaan has digitalized the whole process of securing life certificate.   
5. The scheme has negated the presence of the pensioner.

This means when the pensioner has relocated themselves to the other state from where he provided his services. Hence this solves the relocation issue suffered by them due to the absence of records in different states.

Procedure for Working of Digital Service/ Jeevan Pramaan Online

The following steps have to be carried out:

1. Mobile Application

Download the mobile application Jeevan Pramaan in the Android Smartphone or Windows PC directly.

2. Provide Details

Provide the details of your Aadhar Card, pension payment number, bank account number, and bank name, mobile number to register as a pensioner.

3. Attestation

Before getting the digital life certificate, it requires the fingerprint or iris scan attestation. Such details are available at your Aadhar Platform, and online biometric will be carried out.

4. Successful Authentication

After successful authentication, an SMS shall be sent, acknowledging your application on your registered mobile number.

It will include Jeevan Pramaan Certificate Identification number.

5. Deposit at Repository

The Life certificate shall be available at the Life Certificate Repository so that the certificate is available to the pensioner and the certificate is available to the disbursing agency anytime.

6. Downloadable Certificate

The certificate is downloadable from the Life Certificate Repository using your Pramaan Id.

Jeevan Pramaan Online Certificate –Accessed from IPPB

The facility of IPPB means Indian Post Payment Bank. According to this facility introduced by the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievance & Pension, the Department of Posts & MeiTy have successfully launched the scheme of “Doorstep service for submission of Digital Life certificate through postman” established under the Department of Pension & Pension Welfare. According to this door to door service:

1. There is a door to door service, which is available to all the Central Government employees/Pensioners.
2. The service is available across the country and is chargeable.
3. The network of postmen and Gramin Daak Sevakas in providing doorstep facility to the pensioners for submission of life certificate digitally.
4. IPBB has customized a bank software and developed the same with the Jeevan Pramaan Online software to provide Digital Life Certificate at the doorstep of the pensioners.
5. This service is in addition to the withdrawal of money from the bank account.
