Jeevan Pramaan Online certificate is a digital life certificate, a biometric-enabled and Aadhar based certificate for pensioners registered with the government. This Digital Life certificate is generated for an individual pensioner using his or her Aadhar Number and Biometrics. Pensioners of central government, state government or any other government organization can take the benefit of this facility.
It is considered a massive relief for pensioners from submission of traditional life certificate. The digital certificate can be submitted by them while staying at home. More than one crore families in India can be classified as the pensioner families. It forms the basis for their income and sustainability. There are approximately 50 lakhs pensioners of the Central Government, and a similar number is from the various government bodies which form the basis for their income and sustainability. This includes pensioners from multiple public sector undertakings (PSUs).
This facility was started in 2014 by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to provide fair and transparent facilities to the pensioners for submission of life certificates at Jeevan Pramaan Portal.
It can be explained as the primary requisite for the pensioners to submit documents to banks and post offices following which their pension shall be credited.
Due to the pandemic the government has preferred digital methods. This digital life certificate[1] is the new norm for providing pension. Download the mobile application Jeevan Pramaan in the Android Smartphone or Windows PC directly.
Provide the details of your Aadhar Card, pension payment number, bank account number, and bank name, mobile number to register as a pensioner.
Before getting the digital life certificate, it requires the fingerprint or iris scan attestation. Such details are available at your Aadhar Platform, and online biometric will be carried out.
After successful authentication, an SMS shall be sent, acknowledging your application on your registered mobile number.
It will include Jeevan Pramaan Certificate Identification number.
The Life certificate shall be available at the Life Certificate Repository so that the certificate is available to the pensioner and the certificate is available to the disbursing agency anytime.
The certificate is downloadable from the Life Certificate Repository using your Pramaan Id.
The facility of IPPB means Indian Post Payment Bank. According to this facility introduced by the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievance & Pension, the Department of Posts & MeiTy have successfully launched the scheme of “Doorstep service for submission of Digital Life certificate through postman” established under the Department of Pension & Pension Welfare. It can be concluded that Jeevan Pramaan Online Certificate/Digital Life Certificate is an initiative taken by the government in India. The digitalization of the Pension Certificates which acts as insurance to the pensioners. It acts as a tax optimization benefit to them. It is seen that a life certificate is a proof of existence produced to an authorized pension disbursing agency or authorized person that he is alive. The certificate is essential because insurance companies and government agencies use it as an essential document before making the pension payments.
The form is a proof that there is no payment to be made by the authority after the death of the pensioner. The certificate is always issued annually. This helps to credit the amount in the account of the pensioner. The requirement of the physical presence of the pensioner has been removed by the government under the Jeevan Pramaan Online Certificate, which is accessed at doorstep and no physical presence is required.
