The Securities and Exchange Board of India has released a circular stating the guidelines Execution of ‘Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction’ (DDPI) for transfer of securities towards deliveries/settlement obligations and pledging / re-pledging of securities.
The guidelines were focused on mitigating the risks involving power of attorney (POA) that the investors give to their stockbrokers. These guidelines will be effective from 1st July 2022.
