SEBI permits foreign investors to deal in commodity derivatives

The Securities and Exchange Board of India released a circular on 29.09.2022 permitting foreign portfolio investors to participate in the exchange-traded commodity derivatives. The proposal for the same was approved by the board in June earlier this year, and this shall come into force immediately.

SEBI recently allowed category III Alternative Investment funds, mutual funds and portfolio management services to enter the Exchange Traded Currency Derivatives (ETCD) market.
