On 30th September 2022, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued Circular No. SEBI/HO/DDHS/DDHSRACPOD2/P/CIR/2022/134 regarding the amendment of guidelines and the timeline extension for implementing the Standardised Industry Classification by the Credit Rating Agencies (CRAs).
Prior to the issuance of this particular Circular, on 01st April 2022, the SEBI had issued Circular No. SEBI/HO/MIRSD/CRADT/CIR/P/2022/42 advising the CRAs for implementing Standardised Industry Classification by 30thSeptember 2022 for various purposes such as Rating Exercise, Peer Benchmarking, Research Activities, which includes research for Economy, Industries and Companies, etc.
