SEBI extends the Timelines for the Effective Date of Implementation of Two Previously issued SEBI Circulars

On 25th November 2022, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a Circular – SEBI/HO/MIRSD/DoP/P/CIR/2022/162 stating the extension of timelines for the implementation of SEBI Circulars SEBI/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD-PoD-1/P/CIR/2022/137 and SEBI/HO/MIRSD/DoP/P/CIR/2022/119.

Circular SEBI/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD-PoD-1/P/CIR/2022/137, issued by SEBI on 06th October 2022, was in regard to the “Execution of ‘Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction’ (DDPI) for Transfer of Securities Toward Deliveries/Settlement Obligations and Pledging/RePledging of Securities – Clarification”. In accordance with this particular Circular, the provisions were to come into effect from 18th November 2022.
