The RBI Notifies in Regard to the Status Update of the PIDF Scheme

On 03rd February 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a notification in regard to the Payments Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) Scheme operated under the Reserve Bank of India from 01st January 2021, subsidises deployment of Point of Sale (PoS) infrastructure (physical and digital modes) in Tier-3 and Tier6 centres and north-eastern states of the country.

From 26th August 2021, beneficiaries of PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi Scheme) in Tier 1 and Tier 2 centres are also covered. Further, J and K and Ladakh regions are included as particular focus areas from 09th June 2022.
