The government has decided to extend the date to file GST forms and GSTR-2B and GSTR-3B to May 24. The extension has been issued as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal was facing technical glitches. The Centre also asked Infosys to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
GSTR-2B is an automated Input Tax Credit (ITC) statement. This is available to all the registered entities based on the information fed by the user in their sales return form GSTR-1. The GSTR 2B is available to taxpaying businesses on the 12th of the subsequent month. They can claim ITC while paying taxes and filing GSTR-3B. In this manner, GSTR-3B is filed on the 20th,22nd and 24th of the month in a periodic manner for different criteria of taxpayers.
