RBI Notifies Provisioning for Standard Assets by Primary (Urban) Co-Operative Banks – Revised Norms Under Four-Tiered Regulatory Framework

On 24th April 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a notification in regard to provisioning for standard assets by primary (Urban) co-operative banks – revised norms under a four-tiered regulatory framework.

This particular notification was issued with reference to a prior issued circular DOR.REG.No.84/07.01.000/2022-23 issued on 01st December 2022, in terms of which Urban CoOperative Banks (UCBs) have been categorised into four Tiers, namely Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 for regulatory purposes.
