Difference between BPO & Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO)

Knowledge Process Outsourcing involves the outsourcing of core functions which may or may not give cost benefit to the parent company but surely helps in value addition. As compared to BPOs, in KPO processes which are outsourced are usually more specialized and knowledge-based. Usual activities that are outsourced to KPO’s are related to Research and development, Capital and insurance market services, legal services, biotechnology, animation, and design, etc.
