NOC from the Pollution Control Board  

Any entrepreneur  operating business in an establishment emitting pollutants in the water resources or surroundings is obligated to obtain consent for carrying out such business from the pollution control board as per section 25 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, the 2 types of NOC that are required to be obtained by the owner are –

Consent to Establish – This type of NOC is granted by the State Pollution Control Board prior to setting up the rice mill industry

Consent to Operate – This NOC must be obtained after the establishment of the rice mill industry, and the same is required to be renewed per the prescribed timeline. The following documents must be provided along with the application.

• Site proposal/index
• Geographical Map
• Descriptive illustration of the different processes together with point sources of sewage emissions
• Ambient Air Quality Report
• A Document that highlights Diesel Generator capability in KVA
• Details of instruments relating to Water Pollution Control/Air Pollution Control
• Non-Objection Certificate from the DOI situated in respective states
• NOC from Directorate of Industries Government Certificate by the DGTD (if it applies)
• Details regarding the chemical reactions with mass equilibrium
• Consent fees in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the respective PCB.
• CA certificate or Undertaking on a stamp paper highlighting Capital Investment and Water Budget calculations

PFA & ESIC Registration

Any establishment comprising employees as per the prescribed threshold under various labour laws is mandated to obtain the PFA and ESIC Registration. It must be noted that the following criteria is required to be met in order to become eligible for this registration ie

• Ten employees (in some states, 20 employees) 
• Maximum salary of Rs. 21,000/- per month

FSSAI License

The business owner must obtain this license in any food business. The applicant must file the application with the appropriate authority, submit documents, and pay the requisite fees.

The essential documents required for obtaining this license are

• Passport size photograph 
• Business name & address
• Details regarding the nature of business 
• FSSAI Declaration form 

GST Registration

GST Registration plays a vital role when businessmen want to carry out interstate sales, as GST registration acts as an identification number for the business. The following documents are required for getting the GST Registration

• PAN Card of the Company
