Let&rsquo;s learn about these schemes in detail in this blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entrepreneurship &amp; Skill\nDevelopment Programs: An Initiative by Ministry of MSME<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/msme.gov.in\/entrepreneurship-and-skill-development-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Ministry of Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises (opens in a new tab)\">Ministry of Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises<\/a> work towards developing and promoting the Indian Small and cottage based industries and numerous other medium scale businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrepreneurship &amp; Skill Development Programs are type of programs\/schemes designed with an initiative to develop various skills in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterslice.com\/learning\/stand-up-india-an-ultimate-funding-scheme-for-entrepreneurs-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"entrepreneurs (opens in a new tab)\">entrepreneurs<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entrepreneurship Skill\nDevelopment Programme {ESDP}<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this\nprogram various business owners are provided a chance to develop their skills\nand work towards growing their businesses. Additionally, it also encourages\nindividuals towards self employment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ndepartment organizes regular Entrepreneurship Development Programs to nurture\nthe talent of youth talent and enlighten them on various aspects of industrial\nactivity required for setting up an MSE. Generally these EDPs are conducted in\nPolytechnics, ITIs, and other technical institutions where numerous skills are\navailable to encourage them towards self-employment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Primarily,\n20% of the total targeted of ESDPs is exclusively conducted for weaker sections\nof the society such as, the SC, ST, Women and physical handicapped {PHs}. Additionally,\na stipend of Rs. 500 is provided per month to every candidate under the promotional\npackage for micro and small enterprises {MSEs}. Also, the candidates are not\nchanged with any fees for attending any skill development program under this\nscheme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enterprise Development\nCenters in ESDP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Enterprise\nDevelopment Centers or ESDs are established at district level under the\nvigilance of the MSME Development Institutes or Technology centers. These\ncenters have two verticals namely, Enterprise Development Vertical and Skill\nDevelopment Vertical. These two verticals work together and provide handholding\nsupport in creating business enterprises and imparting skill training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enterprise\nDevelopment Vertical mainly focuses on the following;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Mentoring and incubation<\/li><li>Ideation<\/li><li>Credit facilitation and <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Market&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;A market is a structured environment, either physical or virtual, where buyers and sellers convene to trade goods and services. This trading hub operates based on the principles of supply and(...)&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/enterslice.com\/learning\/terms\/market\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>market<\/a> accessibility<\/li><li>Enterprise clinic diagnostic studies during sickness, counseling\nand other facilities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Skill\nDevelopment Vertical primarily focuses on providing information on in-depth\nmarket intelligence. It guides the potential job seekers to get relevant skills\nthrough various institutions and agencies in relevant sectors.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ESDP Modules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ESDP\nconsists of the following modules;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Industrial Motivational Campaign {IMC}<\/li><li>Entrepreneurial Awareness Programme {EAP}<\/li><li>Entrepreneurship-Cum-Skill Development Programme {E-SDP}<\/li><li>Management Development Programme {MDP}<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These modules\nare conducted through different field officers of the DC (MSME) that are\napproved by the Empowered Committee lend by the AS &amp; DC, MSME. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Aid<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost 5% of\nthe annual budget under the scheme is used to provide training aids, equipment\nand other related infrastructure to enhance the quality of the training\nactivities in the TCs, MSME DIs and EDCs and training activities at HQ level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there is a provision is made to provide 10% to the EDCs, <a href=\"https:\/\/enterslice.com\/msme-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MSME  (opens in a new tab)\">MSME <\/a>DIs, TCs and HQ office to organize interactive meetings. This also includes the national or regional workshops hiring, etc. for HQ and ESDP activities by obtaining expert guidance for the training at the district levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assistance to Training\nInstitutions {ATI}<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nassistance under this scheme is provided to the National Level Institutions\nthat are operating under the Ministry of MSME, namely, KVIC, Coir Board,\nNIMSME, Tool Rooms, NSIC and MGIRI in the form of capital grant for the\npurposes of creation and strengthening of the infrastructure. Also, provide\nsupport for entrepreneurship development and skill development training\nprograms. Additionally, the assistance is provided to exiting State Level EDIs\nfor creation and expansion or strengthening of the training infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nature of\naid<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The amount\nof assistance cannot exceed the actual amount for the expansion\/ strengthening\nof the infrastructure required by training institutes set-up by the Ministry of\nMSME. Scale of maximum assistance to the state level EDIs is restricted to Rs.\n2.5 crore in each case. And the assistance for skill development programs is\nprovided as per the specified rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can Apply?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ninstitutions of Ministry of Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises and existing\nState Level EDIs can apply for the assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\norganizations that wish to apply for the assistance for creation and\nstrengthening of infrastructure can send their applications to the Director or\nDeputy Secretary of EDI, Ministry of Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises,\nUdyog Bhavan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In\nConclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrepreneurship\nSkill Development Programme {ESDP} and Assistance to Training Institutions\n{ATI} are programs governed under the Ministry of Micro, Small &amp; Medium\nEnterprises {MSME} to encourage and develop entrepreneurial skills in existing\nbusinesses.
