The last Union Interim Budget was chaired by then acting Finance Minister Piyush Goyal who announced that the ceiling for tax exceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p><div class=\"shadow1\">As per the discussion the Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman may increase the tax exemption Limit to Rs. 3,00,000. <\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Announcements of the Financial Stability and Development Council meeting and Budget 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/pib.nic.in\/newsite\/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=190533\">20<sup>th<\/sup> Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC)<\/a> meeting was held on 20th June 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key\nhighlights of the FSDC meeting include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Indian government is planning on increasing the personal income tax threshold to 3 lakhs from 2.5 lakhs for the salaried class<\/li><li>New tax reliefs may be introduced that will give a push to Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna(PMAY), according to which the goal of &ldquo;Housing for all&rdquo; has to be achieved by 2022<\/li><li>This meeting reviewed the current global and domestic economic situation, the overall macroeconomic situation and financial stability issues including the concerned Banking and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Non-Banking Financial Company (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/enterslice.com\/nbfc-registration\" target=\"_blank\">Non-Banking Financial Company<\/a> (<a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;NBFC&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) operate similarly to banks but do not possess the legal status of a bank. Presented by\nthen acting Finance Minister Piyush Goyal. In this meeting, the government\nannounced that income tax relief under section 87A is for taxpayers having income\nup to Rs. 5,00,000.
